I'm glad to hear you thought the dream sequence worked - it was one of the things I was worried about. (I'd avoided doing one previously because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to pull it off.) I wanted it to be suitably dreamlike without going over the top - since I've implied that Cybertronian "dreams" are really just "sensor echoes" I couldn't stray too far from 'Jack's actual memories, so it's mostly recollections of actual events mixed up chronologically so that they're happening in the same time and space. I cheated a bit with the winding cables, but it could be argued that 'Jack has been tied up at some point in his existence and his CPU simply coughed up that memory along with the rest in response to the overarching immobilization theme.
